Later sections explore the Roman Empire, the lost city of Pompeii, the Han Dynasty, the Silk Road, the Nazca civilisation in South America, the Axumite Empire in East Africa and the Byzantine Empire. By looking at these contemporaneous events and cultures, children gain a richer understanding of the context in which the Prophets lived and taught.
Additionally, the book includes country and city studies as well as an introduction to important Islamic landmarks across Arabia and the Middle East, helping young learners feel a connection to the places they read about in the Qur’an and Seerah. The unit culminates in the blessed seerah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, exploring his life, mission and struggles, and naturally leads into the history of Islam after him, beginning with the Rashidun Caliphate and the leadership of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, inshaAllah.
