Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, describes the Earth’s Atmosphere as a Protected Ceiling. Through this unit, we take you through all the layers of the Earth’s atmosphere, linking them back to what Allah has told us about them in the Qur’an.

In this unit, we cover:

  • All 5 layers of the Earth’s atmosphere

  • Gravity and its role

  • The protection that each of the layers of the earth’s atmosphere provides and their roles

  • Muslims who played a role in discovering inventions that have enabled us to study the atmosphere and space

  • Meteors and the Islamic perspective

  • The Ozone Layer

  • Tafseer of verses 30-32 of Surah Anbiya

  • Activities include: Quranic copywork, word find, crafts, aurora artwork, partial vacuum experiment and space station research activities.

    This unit is best suited for children in primary school, ages 6 and up.
