Our Islamically Integrated Language Arts Level One units offer a comprehensive, faith-centred approach to developing essential language skills. Designed for Muslim children aged 6 to 10, these units reflect Islamic values and are thoughtfully tailored to the lived experiences of Muslim children, using examples, contexts and references that feel familiar and meaningful within their own daily lives.

Writing Skills
Children begin by learning to write simple sentences and short paragraphs using correct grammar, punctuation and capitalisation. As they progress, they move towards descriptive paragraphs and narrative writing. The emphasis is on clear, organised writing and expressing thoughts and ideas coherently.
Grammar and Language Structure
Key grammar concepts such as nouns, verbs, adjectives and sentence structure are reinforced within the writing lessons. These concepts are explored more thoroughly in our Language Arts Level One: Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling unit.
Vocabulary Development
Students expand their vocabulary through reading and contextual learning, with a focus on selecting appropriate words and using them confidently in both spoken and written language.

Phonics and Spelling
While this is not a phonics programme, phonics skills are continually reinforced to support decoding, spelling and word recognition.
Vocabulary Development
Vocabulary is strengthened through reading and context-based learning, helping children use language accurately and appropriately.
These units aim to develop your child’s ability to communicate effectively, comprehend meaningfully and express themselves with confidence in the English language. All content is intentionally designed for Muslim children, incorporating Islamic manners, values and perspectives, and referencing situations and experiences that align with their faith, identity and everyday lives.
