Your child now knows how to read alhamdulillah and it’s time to expand beyond basic reading skills and encompass a broader range of language skills. Our level one language arts unit has you covered inshaAllah.
This unit aims to develop your child’s ability to communicate effectively, comprehend meaningfully and express themselves with confidence in the English language. All content is intentionally designed for Muslim children, incorporating Islamic manners, values and perspectives, and referencing situations and experiences that align with their faith, identity and everyday lives.

In our Language Arts unit we focus on:
Writing Skills: Begin to write simple sentences and short paragraphs with correct grammar, punctuation and capitalisation. Focus on developing clear and organised writing and expressing thoughts and ideas coherently.
Grammar and Language Structure: Understand basic grammar concepts such as nouns, verbs, adjectives and basic sentence structure, focusing on parts of speech and punctuation.
Phonics and Spelling: Although not a phonics program, we aim to continue to reinforce phonics skills for decoding and spelling words.
Vocabulary Development: Expand vocabulary by learning new words and their meanings through reading and context. Develop the ability to use appropriate words in speaking and writing.

The unit covers contents for grades 1-3 and is appropriate for children aged 6-10 inshaAllah.
